The Tarot Killer is a figure that was believed by Eddie Pope to be Kevin Cosby. He is the target of Eddie Pope's investigation, and was for some time believed to be affiliated with Chorazos. However, now the Tarot Killer's identity has been discovered to be Bryce Droher.

[edit] Evidence

There is substantial evidence that Eddie has acquired regarding the Tarot Killer. He gathers his name from the fact that he leaves a Tarot card in every murder scene. He has so far targeted five distinct locations, each murder taking place on the new moon:

  • San Francisco On June 3rd, the SFPD discovered about 4 quarts of blood at an apparent murder scene in a remote alley in the Japantown area. It was accompanied with a Tarot card. Oddly, the blood was still warm.
  • Provo The second murder occurred on July 3rd, in a deserted industrial part of town. At the scene was lots of blood, a tarot card, and bird remains.
  • New York This time the Tarot Killer struck New York on August 1. There was blood, feathers, the wing bone of a turtle dove, and the typical Tarot card. This murder took place in Central Park.
  • Austin August 30, 2008: A murder (possibly multiple) took place on the Congress Avenue Bridge in Austin. The evidence includes blood enough to satisfy possibly multiple victims, "enough feathers to fill a pillow" and the bones of at least 4 different kinds of birds. The strangest part, though, is that the entire scene was covered in bat guano, which means it was committed during the daytime.
  • Chapel Hill The September 29 murder was just outside the Morehead Planetarium in Chapel Hill.

The Tarot Killer is almost certainly in a cult, as many cults are known to involve animal sacrifice. Additionally, as the killings have become more and more public, it is possible the murderer is a performer or extrovert. The lack of bodies is vexing as well--for while the murderer seems to drain them of blood, he/she takes the bodies or otherwise disposes of them. A video taken by Eddie Pope and posted on his site reveals that the murderer (if this video was taken of the right man) is a middle-aged, dark-haired, bearded white man. He has been seen sitting on his bed chanting in some unknown language, attempting to drown himself in the sink(?), and leaving his apartment with a black bag and a black folder of some kind. He went for pie before vanishing into the crowd.

On November 17, Eddie Pope followed the killer all the way to Atlanta, Georgia. The Killer then proceeded to search for the artifacts that Transtar had picked up the day before. Eddie and the Killer nearly ran into each other, Eddie catching and interrupting the Killer's enigmatic ritual before the Killer ran off empty-handed. Eddie has placed a tracker on the Killer's car, however, and will follow him wherever he goes.

Eddie followed the Killer to Mount Gilead, North Carolina, where he stayed and got pie and milk. While eating his sustenance, he apparently muttered something along the lines of "But daddy did it" and "daddy said it would work." The Killer left--but not before leaving behind a curious sheet of paper. How the Killer got his hands on a copy of a letter to Alan Camacho from Peter Severn in 2002 is suspect.

Eddie then followed the Tarot Killer to Indiana, where he was spotted at a pie shop with a bloody teddy bear, eating a cream pie. When a young boy saw him with the bloody teddy bear, he freaked out and began screaming. Startled, the Tarot Killer swiftly paid, tipped, grabbed his pie, and ran off (assumed with bloody teddy). It is unknown why he has been visiting the Indian burial mounds as of late, but he has been to every location that Elizabeth Riley and Art Lydney have directed Sentries to.

The Tarot Killer then returned to the Etowah Mounds in Atlanta, where his ritual was caught on tape by Lillian--and he produced a small metal medallion, which he kept. He was finally seen in NYC, where he followed the Sentries around, gave BA his medallion for protection, and sacrificed himself to return Art's cylinder to the Dreamscape.
