|
|
So when I went down to check my campus mail today, among the textbook I ordered and a credit card offer, I found an usual letter waiting for. It caught my eye immediately because of it's black cat stamp. I had given my mailing address out in case anybody from the conclave wanted to contact us - could it be?
Opening it up, I found nothing less than a letter from Exu inside! I'm throwing some scans up on the wiki.
Edit: the first page, the second page, the map he sent me, and the envelope he sent it in.
Edit2: Detachment 3 and connections to Area 51

Hmm... I'll look into this detachment3. I've never heard of Thule Air Force Base. _________________ "...none of us really changes over time, we only become more fully what we are."

It's in Greenland. I know Konamouse has heard of it. _________________ "Mayhem achieved, boredom relieved” - Bruce McCall

That map looks a bit like a timeline of something. I'll take a closer look (I'm stuck at home with no transportation, due to automotive difficulties). _________________ "A sword by itself rules nothing. It only comes alive in skilled hands." |

Yep, thule is a base. From the looks of my global email adress list (when I switch it to Thule), it's really small. Like less than a thousand folks. _________________ "...none of us really changes over time, we only become more fully what we are."

"Most people have a hard enough time making sense of the lat 70 years, even when it is all mapped out for them."
Ok, the map. As other's have pointed out, the circled letters spell out "Council."
A is either Chicago or someplace near Chicago. Strikers were killed in Chicago in 1937, but that doesn't strike me as what Exu's talking about.
D is somewhere in Colorado but I can't get it correspond with any city I can find. _________________ WHO IS SAINT FENLINE?

Looking at a map of Colorado, and in the general area of the dot on Exu's map, it could be any one of the following: Boulder, Fort Collins, Loveland, or Greely (maybe Rocky Mountain State Park?). _________________ "A sword by itself rules nothing. It only comes alive in skilled hands." |

The map has circled letters... has anyone looked into that yet? _________________ "...none of us really changes over time, we only become more fully what we are."

Thule AB, Greenland. Originally a "secret" installation built in the 50's to combat the cold war. We had missles up there and jets ready to jump over the Arctic into Russia (but never needed).
The missles are gone, lonely mountains of dirt (except one site where you have cement & metal covers, but frozen water down below).
It's Air & Space Command, watching the nation's satellites. And refueling base. Helps out the Canadians up at Alert (Operation Boxtop twice a year restocks the northern most inhabited place on the planet). Mostly Danish contractors on the base, some USAF military assigned. My husband was there for a year in 1999-2000 and again in 2005-2006 (I got to visit in August 2006). 6 months 24 hr daylight, with the sun setting in early November and rising again in early March (give or take a few weeks).
We have tons of pictures. Look up konashark on flickr.

Anyone made a transparent copy of the map, overlaid it on a regular map to narrow it down? I'd love to do it myself, but I am sans Paint Shop right now. |

Also home to NIST time signal transmiters WWV and WWVB. May or may not be relevent, I'm having trouble hitting on the date, tho. The closest I can some are some road openings and a Sugar Factory. _________________ "A sword by itself rules nothing. It only comes alive in skilled hands." |
