Hello, Howard. Another question for you. I seem to be confused (again) - have you mentioned Dr. Riley before? I feel as if I should know him.

Her, Dr. Elizabeth Riley, but no, I can't imagine why I would have mentioned her. It was a one-hour elective class on music appreciation, hardly anything that made a huge impression on me. The music department at Miskatonic was tiny, so most of them had to find angles to enhance other ciricculum as well. Dr. Riley was good at explaining the physics and math of music to us more left-brained types and many of the CS students swore the right-brain exercise made for better thinking skills. I found it rather sleep inducing, personally.

Another: Could Exu's mentions of music of the cosmos just been a hint to look to radio astronomy? And the use of the trumpeter swan migration page a similar hint as Cynus A was the first radio galaxy found and it was found by the Reber telescope?

Could be, but then it wouldn't explain what message he was trying to send me by calling me out by name. I'm certainly not going to go West Virginia, if that's what he's after.

Question about the letter: how did Art know to ask those dangerous questions about the research being done? I didn't see anything from BA's posts to lead us to that conclusion?

Art? Do you mean PoliticanTexan? How he knew about Detachment 3 is a good question. His last post does indicate that he's getting in contact with his Intelligence Contacts but not about anything connected to echoes off the moon or anything.

Maybe between his last post and when he started asking questions he shouldn't have he managed to find a connection between the Lucky5 connection and whatever Detachment 3 is up to. If only we could find what he knew. If we could recover his Blackberry maybe...

Yes I said Art, but I meant Alan Comacho, Political Texan, king of the blackberry.

Well to briefly look into the mathmatics angle, I graphed the location vs the year, and I also graphed the location vs the event order. Nothing really jumped out at me, but I posted the graphs here if anyone wants to see

Okay, here's a question...you mentioned Doc Riley and senor Exu as two faculty members. What about the others? You think they might be important? And do you have their contact information? Secret Societies tend to flock together worse than the pidgeons in the city my dad lives in.

Okay, I think that with the help of Sid, we've managed to crack open a small part of the map, assuming the delta symbol still means "change of status."

What we have on the map under F is....

1958
Delta(2) 1990
Delta(Det3) 1995
Delta 2005

We figured out at point F appears to be in Sugar Grove, WV, also known to be "an American government communications site that intercepts all international communications entering the Eastern US."

1958 - The Obervatory is created in Sugar Grove
Delta(2) 1990 - The two Wullenweber Circulary Disposed Antenna Arrays (CDAAs) are decommissioned
Delta(Det3) 1995 - Detachment 3 is commissioned in Sugar Grove.
Delta 2005 - The information about the observatory being created becomes declassified.

http://eyeball-series.org/sugar-eyeball.htm

Have some pictures of Sugar Grove and the big antennas.

I was reading the long and very well put together argument and discussion for the letter/map and read them both extesively. Something just didn't stick

eXu said that he couldn't tell us things directly so he had to be vague. How is giving us a roadmap/timeline being vague? The two don't fit together. Something isn't right here. I mean, who says it was actually eXu who sent the letter? What if we're being drawn into something far worse than we expect?

hmmm.

Miskatonic wasn't a huge campus, but that's still a lot of people, a few hundred faculty and a few thousand students at any one time.

He certainly isn't being vague, but he is suggestive that there is pattern to all of those things, isn't he? And all of that has something to do with what Alan shouldn't have been asking about?

Which means all of this is somehow tied into the whole Lucky 5 / Chorazos mess by implication, right?

Doesn't fit together for me yet either, Mar_Vell. But it already scares me.

Good, I'm glad I'm not the only one with some doubts on the subject.

A different telescope, 300 ft, built in 1962, collapsed in 1988 in Green Bank WV

Interesting note about Green Bank, here:

"The observatory contains many other notable telescopes, including three 85 foot telescopes forming an interferometer array, a 40 foot telescope used by school groups and organizations for small scale research, a fixed radio 'horn' built to observe Cygnus X-1..."

"Cygnus X-1 (often abbreviated to Cyg X-1) is an X-ray source in the constellation Cygnus, and considered to be a black hole."

Cygnus is also Latin for Swan.

And here I thought I was on to something with my random deciphering of Exu's letter... this all seems to make lots of sense due to it's connections... man we don't take too long with this talented group of people to discover things that may need to be discovered... guess we were all chomping at the bit to attack a new problem when the need arose... lol... And here I was following up an interesting thing about the history of the Irish Banshee and which led me to the hauntings of Parkersberg when this much more coherent idea came up... oh well I'll bookmark the sites anyways just in case it means anything later...

Regardless I think it that we're unraveling some mysteries here which is good... and The Trumpet of the Swan does come to mind here when we talk of horns and the like... but what does it all mean???... based upon our astronomy-looking Chorazos friends I'm sure that all this talk of space, a specific constellation, and the like is directly tied to the Council's plans in the not so distant future... if this stuff pans out I think we may have discovered a long withstanding series of events related to their rituals that has to do with this "swan" constellation...

Has anybody else mentioned the fact that Grote Reber was the first person to "see" Cygnus using his radio telesecope? Maybe the connection to Cygnus is why eXu's map traced the long and winding path taken by the telescope.
