Here I am again, in a position where I have to explain myself. I know it must look like I'm my own worse enemy sometimes, and I know our relationship has been strained in the last few months.

I need you to trust me, to trust that I'm still the same Art you've known all along. Warts and all, maybe. I'm just not in a position to be able to explain myself, at least not in a way that you'd find satisfying. Not yet.

Howard, I'm in town, but just for tonight. Would you be interested in catching a drink? We can have our own private little wake for Jen.

Art, the last time someone sent me a strange note, I burned it. You're lucky I even opened it. I'll respect your request not to share it, but I don't buy it for a minute. And if you haven't also told Marie, well then whoops, I spilled a secret.

Whatever your veiled excuses might be, your argument is clear and I reject it. The ends don't justify the means. Then you have the balls to just declare you aren't going to answer any questions about your actions?

I should have just followed my instincts and burned the note without opening it, instead of waiting to burn it after I read it.

I'll let Marie make the call on what we should do about it unless someone else chimes in. I don't think there are that many of us left with access to this forum.

I don't even know if you're still lurking around, Art. I imagine you must be, hoping to see some reply from Marie.

Maybe you haven't noticed but the rest of us are starting to be worried sick about not hearing from Marie. You know, on top of the death of Jen and the disappearance of Alan. You remember those people, Art? Those people who used to think of you as a friend?

You've probably seen by now that I didn't keep my promise either. I told the rest of the Sentries, I'm not going to keep any more secrets from them. In fact, I'm going to need to give new people moderator controls, there's no way I can run this place all by myself. Which means new people poking into here.

And I'm starting to look forward to that, Art. The new Sentries have axes to grind.
